Andrew ‘Beezer’ Beese was born in Bristol in 1965 and began photographing the music, street and youth cultures around him in the early 1980s. Growing up a part of the scenes he documented, his archive includes Bristol’s punk, reggae, sound-system, club and graffiti cultures, including the Wild Bunch collective from which Massive Attack emerged.

In 1986, Beezer travelled to Manchester, photographing the Haçienda during its pre-acid-house years and the communities around Hulme. He has continued to document music, nightlife and urban culture in Britain and internationally for more than four decades.
