PHOTOGRAPHIC SERIES

Alex Hurst

New Brighton, 1996

In 1996, Alex Hurst photographed New Brighton on the Wirral, recording the people spending time along its seafront, amusement areas and public spaces. The photographs form part of her wider documentary work made across Liverpool and Merseyside during the 1990s.

The series was later included in Framing New Brighton, a short documentary film by Dylan Cubbin, alongside photography by Ken Grant and Tom Wood.
