Alex Hurst is a documentary and portrait photographer from Liverpool whose work is shaped by the city she grew up in. Active since the mid-1990s, she photographs everyday life with a clarity that draws out the significance in moments often passed by.
Since 2008, Alex has worked primarily from her studio in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, continuing to document the people and places around her. In 2021, she began working in film and television as a portrait and unit stills photographer, expanding the reach of her practice while remaining rooted in the observational approach that defines her work.
