In the late ’90s I spent a lot of my spare time taking photographs of hairdressers near where I live. This was one of my favourites, it was called ‘Broadway’

The interior was very austere and the carpet that was pieced together using gaffer tape!

The customers were women who had lived through World War Il and I wanted to document these little salons while that generation were still with us.
