Anne Worthington grew up in Blackpool before moving to Manchester, where she became part of Hulme’s squat and arts scene during the final years of the Crescents.
Her work also took her across Britain in an old Land Rover, documenting housing, industrial decline and the people living through it. In East Manchester, especially Beswick, Clayton and Openshaw, Worthington photographed communities holding together as streets were emptied for demolition.
British Culture Archive represents these selected bodies of work by Anne Worthington, making them available through books, exhibitions and print editions.
