BCA’s photographer galleries bring together sustained bodies of work that document British life from within. The photographers represented here record communities, working lives, youth culture, music, protest and social change with proximity, authorship and lived understanding.
Spanning the post-war period to the present, the galleries focus on long-term documentary work shaped by time, trust and direct connection to the worlds being photographed. Together, they form a wider record of everyday life and social history across Britain.
Each photographer is presented through a dedicated profile linking their work, editions and publications.
