Oasis Exhibition Manchester: Look back to the nineties with ‘Oasis Fans 1994–1997’

As Manchester prepares to welcome Oasis back home, don’t miss the chance to relive the magic of the 90s at the Oasis Fans Exhibition in Manchester. Take a trip down memory lane, back to 1996, when Britpop ruled the airwaves and devoted fans queued up for tickets in person.

The British Culture Archive exhibition, ‘Oasis Fans 1994–1997’, showcases a stunning collection of never-before-seen photographs by BCA photographer Jon Shard. This exhibition transports you to a time before online sales, dynamic pricing, and endlessly refreshing web pages to secure the hottest ticket in town — back when queuing for hours and sharing the moment with fellow fans was part of the experience.

“I took these photos at Maine Road back in 1996. I honestly can’t remember if it was the Saturday or Sunday gig. I remember driving up there on my own and sleeping in my car. What I was also doing was beginning to understand England. Community. The things that bind us. And hope. There was a lot of hope with the Oasis movement, and the 90s wasn’t there?”
