An exclusive programme of limited edition prints produced in collaboration with the Tish Murtha Archive.
Tish Murtha is one of the defining figures in British documentary photography. Working in Newcastle upon Tyne during the late 1970s and 1980s, she photographed the communities she knew best, creating a body of work that remains one of the most important records of working-class life in Britain.
From Elswick Kids and Juvenile Jazz Bands to the landmark Youth Unemployment series, Murtha’s photographs combine social commitment with humour, empathy and a deep understanding of the people and places she photographed.
Initial editions are released at 10 × 12 in (25 × 30 cm) in limited editions of 50, hand-numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued in collaboration with the Tish Murtha Archive.
Larger formats may be authorised only after the previous edition has sold out. These are released as separate editions at a higher price. All editions are permanently closed once sold out.
