British Culture Archive is presenting 25 works at Brit Under Fest, a new British cultural festival taking place at Poble Espanyol in Barcelona on 15 and 16 May 2026.
The festival brings together music, literature, design, fashion, comedy, gastronomy and photography, with a programme focused on contemporary British culture and its wider influence. Special guests include Irvine Welsh and Neville Brody, alongside live music, talks and performance.
BCA’s presentation is one of the festival’s main visual components, placing British documentary photography within an international cultural setting and introducing the archive’s work to new audiences in Spain.
The selected photographs reflect the archive’s wider focus on everyday life, youth culture, music, street culture and post-war social history. Together, they show how documentary photography continues to shape the way British culture is understood, both at home and abroad.
