About the Photographer | Robin Weaver
Robin Weaver studied photography at Newport College of Art in the 1970s. After graduating he worked as a photographer for The South Wales Argus. Aside from his day job, which saw him photograph local events such as mayoral visits and rugby matches, Robin’s main interest was documenting the everyday lives of the people in and around the valleys of South Wales. Robin’s stunning body of work has captured the unique character and charm of South Wales in the 1970s.
Aside from his work in South Wales, Robin documented towns and communities throughout the UK, continuing to do so to this day.
Robin “I believe old images develop a special character – a unique sheen imbued by the passage of time. Looking through these photographs today, I find myself not only in a different time, but also in a different country.”
